Kindermusik Fun! - Friday, May 9th 9:15 to 10:00 a.m. – Geauga West Library –- Join Kindermusik Instructor, Daphne Ginsburg for a special HMG Kindermusik playgroup. Learn & play with your children as they enjoy singing, moving, listening & interacting socially, and playing simple instruments. Please RSVP to Liz with the number of children & their ages that will be attending this Kindermusik play group by May 3rd, spacing is limited & we need at least 3 families to hold the group.
Infant Group – Friday, May 9th 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. – Metzenbaum School Infant Classroom, 8200 Cedar Road, Chesterland – While siblings are also invited, activities and conversations will revolve around the infant in your life. Your infant will enjoy the chance to interact with other infants and parents will enjoy to chance to meet other adults going through infant years! Questions? Call Liz at 285-1112.
Lake Farm Parks Field Trip – Monday, May 12th from 10:00 to noon - 8800 Chardon Road, Kirtland Come and experience this award-winning park where you can milk a cow, take a wagon ride, and discover over 50 breeds of farm animals up close. Marvel at the Border collies at work. Explore solar and wind power, The Great Tomato Works, and themed gardens. Please call 285-1112 by May 5th to RSVP your family. Lake Farm Parks has extended a special HMG price of $1.50 per person.
Help Me Grow Give-Away – Wednesday, May 21st 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. – JFS, 12480 Ravenwood Drive, Chardon – Everything is free – children’s clothing, toys, blankets, books & more
Takin’ a Walk – Thursday, May 22nd 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. – Big Creek Park, 9160 Robinson Road, Chardon We will walk on the paved paths that are stroller friendly. Bigger kids can participate in an Eye-Spy checklist & we will enjoy a light snack when we are done with our walk. We will meet at Aspen Grove Shelter – near the Meyer Center.
Free Car Seat Safety Check – Wednesday, May 28th 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – BY APPOINTMENT ONLY – 470 Center Street, ChardonSafety Checks are scheduled every 20 minutes, call 285-1112 to schedule your appointment.
Metzenbaum School Playground – Monday, June 2nd 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. – Metzenbaum School, 8200 Cedar Road, Chesterland Enjoy one of the best playgrounds in Geauga County. A light snack & drink will be provided.
Preston’s Hope Playground – Tuesday, June 10th 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. - The Mandel JCC, 26001 South Woodland Rd., Beachwood Preston's H.O.P.E., a playground for children with all levels of abilities and disabilities, is located on the property of and operated by the Mandel Jewish Community Center in Beachwood, Ohio, and is open to the public. Specific components of Preston's H.O.P.E. include The Imagination Village, with make-believe houses that are connected by a Raised Walkway, The Science and Discovery Area, Play Theatre, Sand & Water Area, as well as play areas with swings, tunnels, and slides that are appropriate for children from Preschool through School age. We will meet outside of “Granny’s Pavilion” and HMG will provide juice boxes for when we need a break!

Concert in the Park – June 20th 7:00 p.m. – Chardon Square – Bring a snacks and a blanket & enjoy the music of “Abbey Rodeo” as they play in the band stand on Chardon Square. This free concert begins at 7:00 p.m. & will play country & 60’s music. We will meet on the south end of the square, a little bit away from the gazebo, so that all of our families have plenty of room to dance. Kiwanis Club does sell some light refreshments. Feel free to come early and enjoy a picnic dinner. Bug spray is recommended & you can stay until the music stops or until your children need to go to sleep! (The concerts are performed weather permitting – if the weather isn’t cooperating we will NOT meet in the park.)
Cleveland Zoo Field Trip – Tuesday, June 24th 10:00 a.m. - 3900 Wildlife Way, Cleveland Enjoy an end of the school year outing with your family & Help Me Grow to the 7th oldest zoo in the United States. Enjoy some of the 3000 animals at the Zoo. Bring a packed lunch to eat for you & your family or purchase lunch there. Please call 285-1112 to RSVP your family by June 16th. The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is offering this Field Trip FREE to Geauga Help Me Grow families.
Multiples Dinner – Thursday, June 26th 6:00 p.m. – The Rookery, off of Cedar Road in Newbury. Join other HMG families who have multiples to have a chance to talk and share the struggles & joins of being a parent of multiples.
Remember – If there is a snow day for the schools in the location that the play group is being held, the Help Me Grow playgroup is cancelled. Not sure if school is cancelled? Just call 285-1112, any playgroup cancellations will be on voicemail.
